The Canal du Centre Lock No. 1, known as Lift No. 1 (Ascenseur n°1), is a historic hydraulic boat lift located in Houdeng-Goegnies, Belgium, inaugurated in 1888.
It is part of the historic Canal du Centre in the Hainaut province and is recognized for its industrial heritage, designed by English engineer Edwin Clark.
It serves as a vertical lift for boats, overcoming a drop of 15.4 meters.
It is one of four hydraulic boat lifts on the old Canal du Centre listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, still operating with their original machinery.
Since 2002, these lifts are primarily used for tourism and pleasure boating, rather than commercial traffic.
